You get up in the morning ready to begin your day. You have a desire to be in the will of God AND you have a big vision you want to birth and grow. You came from a family that really was not able to pattern for you stability or “success”. There might have even been addictions or shaming incidents in your childhood. Not combining practicing the presence of God with militant action. Most books offer very little advice about how to tap into your identity in Christ and utilize it in such a way that you can stay focused on growing your vision AND not compromise the call of God on your life. No wonder most leaders fall into the trap of trying to recruit their members to their vision and and programs because the truth is if they teach people how to build a BOLD kingdom identity, that means they risk these individuals becoming individuals that will launch out of their organization and DO kingdom. Most Christians never figure out that the kingdom of God is within THEM (not a specific church, job or relationship) and instead they live disconnected lives trying to serve God in “ministry” and yet build the vision that God has given them in a business or non-profit.

It’s normal. When you aren’t sure about what to do, you look at what other successful people are doing and attempt to copy them. This isn’t always wrong or ineffective but the challenge with copying other leaders is that the majority of these people aren’t successfully living a bold identity themselves and helping others to do so. It might make you feel safe, but following the herd will lead you to the same lousy and lifeless results you have always gotten. So even though you may have the greatest relationships in the world, they’re not always the best source of advice about building a uniquely yours BOLD identity.
