
Lead generation for faith based entrepreneurs is more of a mindset than a "technique". One of the best strategies to attract potential customers that convert into clients is simple yet effective. Be confident about your identity where ever you go, engage people in conversations and give them an invitation. This past weekend as many of you know was Wesley's wedding and it was so much fun!
It went so well considering the record breaking heat and I am a Mom-in-grace for the first time:). At the wedding I had the bartenders ask me how old I was.
Instead of getting offended, I shared II would be 48 this year and then that of course led to another question. How did I stay in such great shape? Instead of telling them well, I exercise and that being the end of it, I said well…I am passionate about what I do for a living and I think that's one of the key's!
Of course, you know what came next. What is your business? And right here is where I want to help you grow your business. In my over 25 years of mentoring, leading neighborhood outreaches, being part of two separate church planting teams and owning 2 businesses that I grew from surviving to thriving...I have learned how to utilize every opportunity to magnetize and connect people in.
It's been my honor to lead many people to the Lord and also be a top performer in sales with NO PRIOR experience or pitch I had developed. How do I do it and how can you do it successfully?
Simple. Do the work to create a confident identity, share what you do for them and then INVITE them to connect with you.
I am constantly amazed at how people compartmentalize their work identity from their personal identity. This is a deception and leads to a lack of integrity and true authority in our political government and our churches. The most effective way to grow and lead is from your business being an extension of your personal identity.
What you will find when you grow your business this way is that everywhere you go, you will have "divine" opportunities and God will SEND you people that NEED your message. I shared what I did for my clients and they pulled out their business cards and asked me to call them. I then offered them a "special" PDF. I had created and guess what…easy-peasy business growth.
Lead generation can become a way of life that is flows with your core identity when you take the time to create a system or product to work people through. It also gives people a process that leads them to RESULTS. It makes no difference what you are offering to help them produce, if you have clarity about YOUR identity and the results you can help them achieve, you will have opportunities everywhere you go to generate new clients.
Here are a few strategies for generating leads that will convert to clients. I have used these for leading people to Christ and also closing new clients in business. These are the exact steps I have used for over 15 years in the ministry and marketplace to "close" and the one's I share with my private clients.
Lead Generation That Works
1. Do not tell people your "position"
Please don't say, I am a marriage coach, or I am an interior decorator, plumber. They are a dime a dozen.
Share one sentence about the pain your specific clients are in and then another sentence or two about the results they get from working with you. The focus is on them THEM not YOU. For instance, here's what I share. I work with people who are really frustrated because they aren't being able to move to the level of leadership and authority that God has called them to. I help them create their own systems and products so they can get paid to transform other people's lives.
Most people miss opportunities to generate leads and close because they haven't taken the time to do the identity work internally or externally. There is nothing worse then having a platform and not having clarity about how you help people build success.
2. Start Creating Small Red-spoons in person and on your website that you give in exchange for their email.
Always have something tangible to offer someone who connects with you.You cannot turn your message into a movement until you learn how to create systems so that you can serve more people with less effort. Red spoons help someone "get' your identity and what you can do for them. Create a small 3 to 5 page smoking hot PDF on helping them master one topic. Begin to build a collection of these and load them on your website in exchange for their email. What you will find is the time you have taken to be clear about the specific results you can give your clients, will help you close the leads you generate and you will be able to build your platform with grace.
Then begin to develop small products in the form of mp3's, auto-responders, classes, e-books and what you will find is your developing multiple income streams. You will build your prices as you build your platform.
3. Always have something going on to invite your potential clients to.
The way to keep your pipe line full is to always have something going on that is fun, bold and gives them the results they are looking for. Don't know what your clients need? Then create a survey and poll your friends and network. Ask specific questions and ask them to list their top 3 concerns, what is keeping them up at night. What they would pay to solve.
You create products for your clients and what is marketable. The best way to find out if it is marketable is to survey. Once you ascertain that begin to create monthly teleconferences or activities that you can help them connect in with for FREE and help your clients GET RESULTS. When they follow your system and coaching, learn how to create a great testimonial so you can build momentum with it.
Remember, the best kind of lead generation is one that emits from having a clear and consistent personal identity. Create a bold personal identity and what you will find is your business will naturally grow from your ability to magnetize rather than "sell". When you make new acquaintances, ask them to connect with you on social media and that is another way to help them connect in!
