Bold Identity Blogging

Be Focused And Bold With Blogging

You can only chase one rabbit at at time. You want to find one problem to solve and stay honed on solving that one issue for your client. It needs to be clear, straight to the point and from your heart. Don’t try to impress anyone with your big words and deep thinking. Follow Ralph with your blogging: To be simple is to be great. Ralph Waldo Emerson

People are not changed by knowledge, they are transformed through revelation of their identity in Christ. Don’t underestimate the power of your thought’s and processes to help people build success but write in a way that cut’s to the chase. You are not writing a thesis. People scan so bold the first sentence so they can read the paragraph if it catches their eye.

Tell Them How You Specifically Serve

Your blogging is your opportunity to shine like a lighthouse BEACON. Don’t hold back in fear that if you really share who you are, it will drive away clients. Be clear about how you serve, how you do it and what your business/ministry is all about. If you give your opinion, tell people EXACTLY why you feel strongly about it. Here’s the bottom line, you aren’t serving people BOLDLY if you hold back out of insecurity. This is the place where having narrowed categories makes a big difference because you aren’t trying to be a jack of all trades. Get SPECIFIC about how you serve and what you do.

Draw a line in the sand and give big invitations.

End each blog with a specific action (s) your audience needs to take. There was nothing about Christ that did not require big invitations. Come follow me and leave everything you own.You will never transform anyone’s life for Christ without requiring big commitments from yourself and from those you lead. Use your blog to make them step BIG up to plate and take an action.

That is also the beauty of being specific in your blog with solving one problem. You can give them actions around the specific results you want to help them produce.

Don’t be afraid of offending people

Make them fish or cut bait when it comes to following you. There is nothing that will sabotage your life or business worse than the fear of man. I once remember a coach of mine saying to me, Did I offend you or did you just get offended? Brilliant. We choose to get offended. Want to know the truth? I should write a check to the people that offended me the most for the all the fire and pruning it brought to my vision and heart.

If you’re not having people unsubscribe off your list monthly, you are not writing strong and specific enough. It won’t make a hill of beans in your growth to lose the people who get offended and you will magnetize MORE of the people who respect you.

Your Mission If You Choose To Accept It?

1. If you’re a beginning blogger, pick one specific problem a week you are going to solve and chase that one rabbit. Remember, people want to know one thing. What’s in this for me? If you are not spelling out for them exactly how to solve their pain, you are losing business.

2. Tell them exactly how you serve and get specific with your categories. Need help with that? This week’s video for our business team is on how to decide on your categories and how many to have. Jump in quick.

3. Give your audience one call to action or give a couple steps they can take. Solve the problem, give the invitation to connect in for more success with you.

4. Write a strong blog this week and get yourself out there in a bold way. If you are not uncomfortable, you are not growing. Publish it scared.

You hit it on the head. For many folks, it requires special boldness just to write that first post — they think they don’t know enough, or aren’t smart enough. In whatever niche you’re in, you automatically know more than the average person about that subject simply by being active in that area.

Post about what you know and act like you mean it! I liked your statement “Don’t try to impress anyone with your big words and deep thinking.” If you read any of our posts, we steer clear of big words, but get the job done. :)

Mickey, it is interesting how you can have a lot of opinions but for some reason when you actually write them down and articulate them, it draws a line in the sand. It really just comes down to, don’t worry about perfection, just get the blogging bus moving and steer it as you go!

It was good to be reminded about having a specific action for the readers to take after reading the blog. Informing is one think; calling for action is the payoff.

    • Beckyharmon

Jerry, exactly. The biggest challenge for me in the beginning was thinking about the “what’s in it for my client” pay-off and THEN the action. Thanks for your thoughts!

Sometimes I can be too timid when I post something I am not entirely sure about. Though every time I have put myself out there…it usually reaps benefits. Thanks for reminding me.

Tim, truth be told, we all need more courage! And your right, 90% of the time moving forward boldly, pays huge dividends!

    Hi Bec

You really drove point home about categories for your blog. From the first month of being on the teams I have gained more clarity and have grown! “Write a strong blog this week and get yourself out there in a bold way. If you are not uncomfortable, you are not growing. Publish it scared” I love this point and will keep it in mind when writing. Thank you for sharing your inspiring blog posts, I really enjoy reading them. Bonnie
